Paper Guidelines

The Indian Journal of Commerce since 1964, aspire to select and publish research paper/articles, through highest quality of transparent, and fair peer review. At every step of publication ethical principles have been followed.

Core Objective

The sole objective of Indian Journal of Commerce is Knowledge updation and promoting publication of articles which have social relevance. Further, equity in ethical based publication decision has been ensured to maintain the Journal's prestige and the trust of readers, scholars, authors, reviewers, editors, research subjects, funding agencies, and administrators. A well-defined publication guidelines and transparent process is explicitly available for all the participants and public. The journal has a well defined Publication and Ethics Policy and following are the main features:

Publication Guidelines

The website provides complete instructions to authors/reviewers. Authors are informed to follow the guidelines for contributors on the website before submitting the paper for publication. Please note that manuscripts not conforming to these guidelines may be returned.

Only manuscripts of sufficient quality that meet the aims and scope of the Journal will be reviewed.

Republication of a paper in another language, or simultaneously in multiple journals with different audiences shall not be acceptable.

Authorship should be limited to those who have made a significant contribution to the conception, design, execution, or interpretation of the reported study.

The journal takes minimum three months' time to process paper for review/publication/rejection.

Membership Requirements

Important: Preference is given to those manuscripts who are members of Indian Commerce Association. Authors are informed to provide the ICA membership number while submitting the manuscript.

Peer Review Process

The journal has a well-defined peer-review. Subject specific peer reviewers addressed for the articles related to their discipline only, and selection of reviewers is always based upon their objectivity and scientific knowledge. Reviews expected to be professional, factual, constructive, prompt, and unambiguous. Also, reviewers must not share the manuscript with any colleagues and must not discuss the manuscript with anyone.

We use a double-blind system for peer review, both reviewers' and authors' identities remain anonymous. The submitted manuscript will be reviewed by at least two experts, one editorial staff member as well as one to three external reviewers. The review process takes a rigorous approach to peer review in accordance with the highest international standards. A second round of peer review may be initiated.

The decision to accept an article is based on the average score given by reviewers. The reviewers' grade a submitted manuscript on a scale of 1 to 4. To be accepted for publication, the manuscript must obtain an average score not less than 30. However, we may reject a manuscript with a score higher than 30 when an editor or reviewer thinks it is not suitable for publication.

Manuscript Requirements

All manuscripts must contain the item mentioned at Author Information and ICA Membership Number, Abstract, Keywords, Introduction, and Need for the study, Research questions, Methodology, Findings, Conclusions and Suggestions. Check the Journal Instructions for Authors for more details.

Publication Frequency

The journal has a declared frequency of publication each year i.e quarterly. The journal is published regularly and in time following its declared frequency.

Plagiarism & Publication Ethics

The Indian Journal of Commerce strive to maintain highest standard pertaining to plagiarism and publication ethics by stressing upon full and prominent disclosure of original source at the time of submission of the article. The authors should ensure that they have written entirely original works, and if the author/s have used the work and/or words or ideas of others that has been appropriately cited or quoted. Plagiarism report has to be attached with the article while submitting the manuscript.

Data & Research Ethics

Authors may be asked to provide the raw data in connection with a paper for editorial review, and should be prepared to provide public access to such data. Studies on patients or volunteers require ethics committee approval and informed consent, which should be documented in the paper.

UGC Guidelines & Open Access

The UGC guidelines related to plagiarism has been implemented in letter and spirit.

The editorial decisions are precise and transparent. In case of a published paper is subsequently found to have errors or major flaws, the Editor should take responsibility for promptly correcting the written record in the publication.

The Budapest Open Access Initiative defines "Open Access" as making it freely available on the public Internet, permitting any users to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of these articles, crawl them for indexing, pass them as data to software, or use them for any other lawful purpose, without financial, legal, or technical barriers other than those inseparable from gaining access to the Internet itself. All published research articles are fully open access: immediately freely available to read, download and share. Articles are published under the terms of a Creative Commons license which permits use, distribution and reproduction in any medium, provided the original work is properly cited. (Open Access Policy).
